The ‘Wonderful’ Pomegranate is nothing short of interesting in the landscape. It always seems to be doing something, whether it’s showing off its lush, shiny green foliage in the spring; its plump, red-orange flowers and edible fruit in the summer, or its bright yellow leaves in the fall. It can be grown as a large shrub, or a small tree, if desired.
However, if grown as a tree, it will necessitate frequent pruning of suckers and lower growth. The ‘Wonderful’ Pomegranate will tolerate a range of different soil types, given that they are well draining; it will even perform nicely in large containers. It is quite drought-tolerant, but will be a much more reliable producer of tasty fruit if watered deeply and often.
